Resumo: In this talk, we address nonlocal field theories, in which the nonlocality arises through infinite-derivative operators, $f(\Box)$, called form factor, in their actions. We review the motivations for introducing such theories in different contexts; for example, nonlocal form factors naturally arise in the low-energy limits of string/M-theory. In particular, we propose a nonlocal spin-1/2 field theory, where the nonlocal form factors $f(\Box)$ still leave room for more generic form factors, $f(\slashed{\partial})$, based on the Dirac operator. Finally, we present our results for this nonlocal fermionic theory.
